Studio Hanawa's online store is now live and ready to accept orders! Our first collection was launched on the 15th of October, featuring head wreaths and pieces of varying designs. It was a crazy afternoon of finalising all the admin stuff, and trying to photoshop all necessary banners. I don't even want to go into how torturous it was trying to come up with 21 different names and product descriptions for every floral head piece. Do people even read those?? I know I do, and I know that Ziman does too cause she went to read every single one the moment the site was lauched wtf LOL. But it's been a two man show (with Brandon) and it's more than exhausting.

But omg I can finally heave a big sigh of relief because I have already crossed the toughest hurdle!! No more setting up accounts, working on the site's layout, or configuring the payment/checkout process or the policy thingys. Now it's working on the marketing, and all the other outreach and SEO ranking matters -_- Not exactly my forte but I guess I just gotta do what I gotta do huh.

Though Studio Hanawa is now live, getting it to be an established brand is going to be tough. I have no damn idea how whimsicalfox got so popular overnight because I can't seem to make it work the same way right now. Sigh. But I'm going to make this business venture of mine take off!! It has only been days but looking at my products, photographs and site, it's really a baby that I love and am so proud of. It's a little depressing to see that the likes on Facebook is still so low... But at least the number of instagram followers is a surprise. Anyway, that's a hint from me to you to like Studio Hanawa's page if you haven't!!!!


Thank you all my dear friends who have given me all their support through this journey. Besties who agreed to helping out in the photoshoot (zhiyi ziman fithri you guys are my life saviours really i love you all for giving me suggestions to better my branding as well) even though it was mostly just sweating buckets. Close friends who have personally messaged me, telling me that the site is good and that the products are awesome and that they're so proud of me because really, I needed that motivation. Thank you.
And then there are others who surprised me because even though we're not that close, you all helped me with advertising, promoting, and liking/following the social media accounts. There's also fello customers who have yet, came back again telling me that they are so in love with the floral pieces and that they'll definitely support me. This really reminds me that I'm so fortunate and that I should probably start... Counting my blessings.
Lastly, I will never forget to thank my boy who has stayed up with me till 5AM to sort out HTML codes, admin matters, and everything else. He is more than just a pillar of support, and he always tells me, "I'm so proud of you for coming up with all this" and damn it, I love him so much. HAHAHA okay that probably has no link and zero relevance but I really don't know how else to put it so pardon my terrible conclusion. But thank you, love.

Mu Parlour is a cafe that has been in my to-go list for a really long time, so I was really stoked for the visit even though its so far from where I live. My partner is yet again, my favourite boy and I always love cafe visits with him because he is one who appreciates good food too. He's not really your typical cafe boy though but we practically spend half our time together eating.

The cafe, as mentioned in reviews, is really easy to miss. But the interior and ambience of Mu Parlour is crisp, clean and cosy with a wall of full-length windows for just enough natural light - just the way I like cafes/rooms to be hehe.
Nothing beats white walls and natural lighting. Nothing.

So I got myself the Eggs Benedict that comes with greens because I haven't had any for a while now and I've been craving for them poached eggs on toast. Brandon got himself the Mu Breakfast platter which consists of Eggs Benedict, bacon, fries and a jumbo sausage. It was unexpectedly filling. I don't even know how but it's worth your money quantity and taste wise. For the drinks we got ourselves latte and mocha.
And of course, there's always room for cakes!! God they have such a pretty selection of cakes to choose from (but the price is ridiculously pretty expensive too - one small slice for $8.80) I wish I had enough calories and money to spare to try them all ):

In the end I got myself the Passion Fruit Opera while Brandon got himself the Tart Au Chocolate.














Their Eggs Benedict is probably one of the best I've ever tasted. I'm so in love with their bread!! It's goes so well with their holladaise sauce (if that's what they're using). Coffee was alright though I'm disappointed with their latte art... Not that I'm any good with latte art but working in a cafe now kinda makes me more aware of these things.

Their chocolate tart was gooood though yet again I thought they could make it more photogenic by sprinkling a little icing powder. The Passion Fruit Opera was okay but not as I expected it to be. They have other lovely cakes like Passion Fruit Cheesecake (was so close to trying that), Raspberry Chocolate Mousse, Lemon Meringue etc so I will be back the next time!! Apparently they have a 1-for-1 deal for cakes on Thursdays so now I know which day to go back for tea...

That pretty much concludes our short food venture. We were supposed to head somewhere else for another round of cakes but our bellies couldn't take it anymore.

Anyway, I hope I'll get to visit another 1 or 2 more cafes for their cakes before school starts! Brandon has turned into a cake-eating monster (this title is self-proclaimed) because of me HAHAHA. Right now, he can't even resist sweet treats like ice-cream or cookies. We're getting so fat.




The next couple of days is gonna be a whirlwind for me as I rush to meet deadlines for my clients projects, and my own webstore. There's been so much pressure to get my site polished to perfection I'm starting to lose it. I'm falling short of the perfection I set for myself and I don't know how I'll ever get there. I'll probably launch the webstore in a few days though, so please do keep a lookout for it! Your support and suggestions/feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Let's hope that I still remember to enjoy the last of my holidays while I'm at that. Why does school start in a week?

I had a day off from work just last Friday (3rd October) and so me and my boy made plans to visit the SEA Aquarium!! It's has actually been on my to-do list ever since last year but I never actually thought it out much. But Brandon decided to take me there that fateful friday so yes I'm a really lucky girl hehe.
Honestly I don't really know what is it about the SEA Aquarium that appeals to me. Quite a number of friends just thought it was ridiculous and said, "you're paying over $20 just to watch fishes swim around?"

Well yes. But I personally feel there's more to that. And maybe it's kind of childlike of me but I really thought it was fun, watching bizarre species of marine life swim or bob around the way they do. Plus, I had the best company I could ask for!!
Plus, I had a really good lunch at poulet. It was our first visit but damn, their chicken and mushroom soup is heaven. Oh and Brandon got me the overpriced truffles from awfullychocolate too. Never thought I'd get to try them since their prices turn me off so much but you really get what you pay for. We both loved it hehe. :)

But Brandon has been treating me to too much things lately and I don't know how to get him to stop, other than staying indoors. Someone please share with me a foolproof method to stop your boyfriend from spoiling you like this. While I feel so much like a princess to be pampered, sometimes it makes my heart ache knowing he is spending so much money on me I don't even know if he has any left for himself. Going dutch is impossible with this dummy cause he always gets the bill before I can!!!! >:(

I'll be heading to camp in a couple of hours so that means no work for the next couple of days. As for my online business project, it should be up in a couple of days. Probably next week soonest. Honestly I'm so excited for its launch and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a successful venture! Meanwhile, do keep a lookout for its debut and I'll really appreciate it if you could give me some support hahaha. Hopefully I'll have some giveaways in store!

This holiday proved to be my busiest. And the most fruitful. I've gotten myself a new part-time job, a web design project, and started the new online business after contemplating for a long time. It's feels like the past month passed by too fast, but I'm hoping the next 2 weeks would slow down a little.

I just need a little breather before the new school semester kills me. Again.

I just hope I can get it up before the break ends. I've been counting down to the end of my holidays, and nothing is more dreadful than the decreasing numbers. This semester break is seriously too short.

It's been a busy week. In fact, this holiday feels too short and cramped with things to do for my liking. I put too much things on my plate without giving it a second thought.

I got myself a new part-time job at a cafe recently. It's grand opening will be in 2 days time and I'm so stoked to be part of the team!! Guess this means goodbye to Gongcha for good. The owners seem pretty nice so far, so I hope the working environment would keep me around. The cafe's located just a 10 minute walk away from my home, so that itself is already a huge plus point. I'll blog more about the cafe I'm working at once I've learnt the ropes.
Aside from the cafe job, I also got myself another web project. I'm helping an events management company construct their official site and it's been a really tough journey so far (I foresee more painkillers coming my way) but I'm really learning so much from this. The best part of it all is how it would reflect so nicely on my portfolio hehe. And of course some allowance for myself while I'm at it. But that's a thing for later because I'm still weeks away from completion. This is so much harder than I thought it would be. ):

I gave myself a break on Friday for a trip to Ikea with some of the primary school friends, Saturday to TBM's flea with Trisha & Miaolin which we snagged a lot of good deals from, and the Sunday to work on a photoshoot with Zhiyi and my CCHY girls (e.g. Ziman & Fithri).





I'll post up some of the photoshoot pictures once I'm done with the editing. Considering how there is probably over 1k of photos to sieve through, it is going to take a while. But meanwhile, feast your eyes on our iPhonegraphy.


The photoshoot is part of the new label that I'm currently working on. I have yet establish the brand or website yet (been occupied with 1. my new part-time job, 2. my web project, 3. hanging out with my pals to make sure I'm spending my holidays right) so I'm don't know when will I ever get it done. But I'm trying my best to work everything out given the amount of time I actually have.
